Next December 7, Berlin receives the 26th edition of the European Film Awards, organized by the European Film Academy. The short-films in competition were selected in combination with different European short films festivals including Venice, Rotterdam, Clermont-Ferrand, Berlin, Tampere and Krakow. Once again, the winner of "Vila do Conde Short Film Nominee For The European Film Awards" at Vila do Conde will run for the European Prize, and this year the distiction went to "CUT", by Christoph Girardet and Matthias Müller.

The experimental film by Germany's Christoph Girardet and Matthias Müller had its world premiere at Curtas Vila do Conde 2013, and is one of 15 nominees for Best European short-film.

Different films shown at Curtas Vila do Conde are also nominated: "AS ONDAS", by Miguel Fonseca, the only Portuguese film in contest; "LETTER", by Sergei Loznitsa; and "A STORY FOR THE MODLINS", by Sergio Oksman, the winner of the International Competition of Curtas Vila do Conde 2012.

The winners, selected by over 2500 professionals of the European Film Academy, will be announced on December 7 at the official ceremony .
