Portuguese films at Clermont-Ferrand

“The Glory of Filmmaking in Portugal” by Manuel Mozos and “The Keeper” by Rodrigo Areias are the films that will represent Portugal in the 38th edition of the largest and most important festival of short films in Europe, the Clermont-Ferrand Festival which starts on 5 February.


Both films are part of the catalog of films of Agência – Portuguese Short Film Agency which will again be present at the Market of the Festival, which participates since 1999, ensuring the promotion of Portuguese production through a promotional stand and a set of daily activities.


In addition to the Portuguese films, also the Portuguese flavors and music will be represented in Clermont-Ferrand: the traditional happy hour on the Agency stand will provide a moment of interaction between producers, directors, programmers and other industry professionals; and the Portuguese party, in Baraka Club, will guest The Legendary Tigerman DJ set and other Portuguese Djs.


The Agency’s presence in Clermont-Ferrand is supported by Instituto do Cinema e do Audiovisual, Instituto Camões, The Portuguese Embassy in Paris, Câmara Municipal de Vila do Conde and Niepoort.

“The Glory of Filmmaking in Portugal” by Manuel Mozos and “Undisclosed Recipients” by Sandro Aguilar, both films produced by Curtas Metragens, will be presented at the 45th Rotterdam International Film Festival, which will take place from 27 January to 7 February 2016.

Two Portuguese films in the competition of Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival

The short films “The Glory of Filmmaking in Portugal” by Manuel Mozos and “The Keeper” by Rodrigo Areias, will join the international competition of the most important festival of short films, the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival, to be held from 5 to 13 February, in France.

Both films, the only Portuguese films selected for the festival, were selected between 7778 works from around the world entered in the festival. 
As in recent years, Agência – Portuguese Short Film Agency will be present at the Festival, ensuring the promotion of Portuguese works. The media coverage of the event and the presence of about 3,300 film professionals from around the world make this market an area of extreme importance in the dissemination of Portuguese cinema. 

Curtas Vila do Conde nominee for the European Film Awards

The European Film Academy announced the list of the 15 short films nominated for the European Film Awards that will take place on December 12 in Berlin.

Once again, the winner of "Vila do Conde Short Film Nominee For The European Film Awards" at Curtas Vila do Conde will compete for Best European Short Film. This year, the choice was "Kung Fury" by David Sandberg.
