Curtas Vila do Conde is dedicated to promoting and sharing high-quality cinematic and audiovisual works, focusing on discovering new films and directors and celebrating the rich legacy of cinema.

The festival accepts short films, including animations, documentaries, fiction films, experimental films, and music videos, produced in 2024 or 2025, with a maximum duration of 60 minutes; however, there are exceptions for certain categories: such as youth and children (Curtinhas competition), competitive section aimed at teenagers, student films (Take One! competition), and video clips (Music Videos competition), which have a 30-minute limit. Subtitles in Portuguese or English are preferable.

The festival accepts all short films produced mainly in Portugal into the Portuguese Competition. Short films made by foreign students at Portuguese higher education institutions will also be accepted for the Take One! competition.

DEADLINES AND COSTS*

· Extended Deadline: until April 30th, 2025 (25 EUR)

*Entries for tge Take One! competition section are free of charge. To benefit from the discounted rates, entries must be submitted and paid for before the announced deadlines.
