Film submissions are now open for the 33rd Curtas Vila do Conde - International Film Festival, which will take place from July 12th to 20th, 2025.

OSCAR® Qualifying Film Festival
Curtas Vila do Conde - International Film Festival is an OSCAR® Qualifying Film Festival. The International Competition Grand Prize and the National Competition Best Film Award are eligible for consideration in the Best Animation / Best Fiction (Live Action) categories of the Academy Awards®.
Curtas Vila do Conde candidate for the European Film Awards
One of the films awarded by the jury will be chosen as a nominee for the European Film Awards, in the short film category, organized annually by the European Film Academy.

Curtas On Tour
After the festival ends, Curtas will take a selection of the best films from its 32nd edition to various locations in Portugal as part of its Curtas Vila do Conde extension program.
This tour will run from July to November, including film screenings all over the country, through three different programs:
— BEST OF CURTAS (selection of award-winning films from the 32nd Curtas Vila do Conde)
— CURTINHAS (selection of the competitive program, judged by a jury made up of children)
— MY GENERATION (selection of the program curated by 4 local secondary schools and ESMAD University)
