Each year, the festival depends on a passionate volunteer team who support key areas of the event. For 2025, applicants may join one of the following roles:

• Production Assistant (Directors Talks, Catering, Outdoor Cinema, Curtas Pro, etc.);

• Guest Office Assistant;

• Exhibition Assistant (Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery);

• Shop Assistant (Loja das Curtas' Bookshop);

• Outdoor Cinema Room Assistant (Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery);

• Indoor Cinema Room Assistant (Vila do Conde Municipal Theatre);

• Social Media Content Creator;

• Box Office Assistant;

• Video Library Assistant.

Volunteer Guidelines:

• Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in an internationally renowned event, gaining direct contact with filmmakers, producers, journalists, artists, and more;

• This is a chance to collaborate on one of Vila do Conde’s and Portugal’s most important cultural events and leave your mark;

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old and should demonstrate responsibility, enthusiasm, communication skills (preferably also in English), and availability throughout the festival dates;

• Volunteer duties may include production support, communications, guest relations, front-of-house roles, catering, transport, among others;

• Applications must be submitted via the official form;

• After submitting your application, you may be contacted for an interview. If selected, you’ll receive appropriate training and information about your role;

• Selected volunteers will receive a free festival pass granting access to all screenings (except film concerts and any other exceptions listed in the program), official merchandise, and catering during their shifts;
