An extraordinary story of matches and mismatches is told here using two simple mechanisms – photographs and letters – linked together through candid and charming animation drawings. After his mother's death, Adam finds some letters exchanged years before between his mother, of Polish nationality, and his father, a Kurd living in Iraq whom he never met. As he goes back more than forty years, this opportunity to learn more about his father becomes a real odyssey full of secrets and surprises that leads him to the moment when his parents met and his father was forced to return to Iraq, leaving his mother behind, pregnant and alone. Unable to return to Poland, how will the relationship between Adam's parents survive distance and time?
