Adapted from the homonymous short story by Loureiro Botas, the film relates the life of hunger and misery that everyone suffered in winter when the trawling campaigns stopped. The youngest left for the forests of Galicia, others for the interior borders of Portugal, all as loggers. Not everyone returned, even those who went to the banks of the Tagus.
