Dorian Gray wishes to remain forever young while his portrait ages and decays in his place. Shielded by eternal beauty and apparent innocence, he surrenders to every vice and commits crimes without consequence. But the portrait keeps its meticulous record, and eventually the debt it holds must be paid in full.
