Megan Jones is a school cleaner in Wales (as is Wendy Phillips, who plays her part, in real life). She and her friend, Beryl, do little else in their spare time but enter competitions on the back of cleaning product packets. With the catchy slogan 'The job will always get well done if you use 1001' they unexpectedly win a trip to Hollywood, leaving behind Megan's over-dependent son, Berwyn.
