A private portrait of Caetano Veloso following him along the roads of Bahia and then on to Santo Amaro da Purificação, his home-town. Caetano meets his fans on the streets, takes part in improvised songs with young people and the fishermen at the harbour, showing the spontaneity of his art. He is in Santo Amaro during the holiday of its patron saint, São João, and together with his mother, Dona Canô, 84 years old he listen to his first record, made almost for fun at the age of ten.
