The film explores the world of Caetano Veloso, for over twenty-five years prolific Bahian singer and composer, whose cosmopolitan and up to date work has mixed the music of his Brazil with that of other countries. Originally a 50th birthday tribute, the film recounts the life and artistic experience of Veloso, as it meets Brazilian history. Caetano speaks about many different subjects: Brazil under the directorship, the musical revolution of bossa nova, the country's current situation, Caetano relationship with the Brazilian musical tradition, his exile in London, his family, his music, and his passions, including cinema, in which Caetano has been both actor and director, as well as creator of the cult film "O Cinema Falado".
