José Pedro Croft, Pedro Cabrita Reis and Rui Chafes are three of the most important portuguese contemporary artists. All of them are sculptors dealing in a different way with raw materials (wood, stone, iron) in both craftsmanship or conceptual work. For this reason they define three different private and protec-ted spaces (their studios) opposed to public spaces where they have their works displayed. The film 'Public art' becomes a fourth possible space, which doesn't become neither to the artists nor the public one. It is a neutral and subjective zone, where biographers and biographies are reduced to the logic of identities.
