'Sanzhyra' in a day in the life of a small boy who lives in a village on the lake of Issyk-kul in Kyrghyzia. It is a very important day for him as well as for every Kyrghyz because he is to be circumcised. The boy is excited, afraid and proud at the same time - he does not only become a Moslem, he becomes a 'new person', passing into a new stage of life, not yet adult, but no longer a baby.
