From its inception the International Short Film Festival of Vila do Conde (ISFFCV) has been inviting young photographers and [VID] Video operators to make a documentry record. This event has been for these young people, almost always audio-visual arts students, a plataform for learning and for technical and aesthetic experimentation. As a result of this, the image archive of ISFFCV is very heterogene and rich. Many of these images have already been shown in other festivals or used for promotion or information material. The celebration of 10 years of ISFFCV in 2002 has aroused the interest of the festival's management in showing these images in an amusing and creative way. As an answer to this challenge, we suggested some sequences of images to be shown on [VID] Video before the beginning of the cinema screenings, as well as showing a selection of printed photographs in venues where the fetsival takes place, in Vila do Conde and in Fnac, Oporto.
