A modern day fairy tale told by Norman McLaren without words. The film turns out to be a ballet featuring an ordinary kitchen chair and a young man as partners. The young man tries in vain to use the chair for its usual purpose, which the stubborn chair refuses the conflict is inevitable.The musical accompaniment is by Ravi Shankar on the stringed sitar, Chatur Lal on the drumlike tabal and modu Mullick on the droning tambura.
