NYDE, means New York Diary. This is a diary made up of still pictures and [VID] Video images, shot in New York between December 1999 and January 2000. This montage follows the process by which [VID] Video is used to appropriate the images and rhythms of the city. The photogenic nature of the city makes every least image, both obvious and cliché, familiar and inaccessible. This accumulation of paradoxes, enriched by an highly elaborate soundtrack, establishes a completely personal vision of a place which is now scarred.
