Along with the kiss the most popular film scene is the chase. Chase sequences can only work on film and are pure cinema. They are brought to life by the editing process - and thus by the one creative element which exists in no other art form. Although chase sequences look very different they actually consist of a small number of shots, which are practically indispensable ' whether it's Buster Keaton, Indiana Jones or James Bond. Virgil Widrich shows everlasting patterns in the chase-sequence and how those patterns formed the basis for the making of 'Fast Film'.
