Hiroshi Kobayashi has a warrant for someone called Kimura, the yakuza who used to sell drugs to his girlfriend. As he comes closer to his target, his journey becomes increasingly strange and surreal. Against the backdrop of a cop film, this adaptation of Katsuhiro Otomo's "Run" ("Akira"´s author) is a never ending chase which falls into a punk delirium of the urban-grotesque genre invented by the underground Japanese school of the 1980'sSogo Ishii: "Thanks to the success of Crazy Thunder Road, I made enough money to finance Shuffle. It was filmed in a week and I decided to adapt "Run", Katsuhiro Otomo's manga. At the time, Otomo was not as well known as now. I'd read his manga in a magazine and decided to shoot without telling him. Later, I apologised and he agreed to forgive-me.
