After several years navigating the beautiful and polluted Bayof Guanabara, Germano and his crew opt to fish in other waters. Despite having asmall fishing-boat and an old engine, they head out towards high seas. At dawn theengine breaks down: it was a sign from destiny that small scale fishing is comingdangerously close to its end. Nevertheless, Germano doesn’t lose his faith andreminds his fellow mates that they are in the Atlantic and that the sea isbottomless. But the following day as irony of fate would have it, they nearly getknocked over by a large Russian oil tanker.
