RITUAL IN TRANSFIGURED TIME takes the idea of creating dance from external elements even further. Rita Christiani and Frank Westbrook are not dancers, and with the exception of a very brief scene, the movements performed are not dance movements. What makes this a dance film is that all the movements – stylised, accidental or detailed – are directly linked to each other as part of a whole, the film, according to a choreography concept.
