I have been filming in Super 8 since 1995. I shoot without a specific purpose, just as an auxiliary tool to photography, so that I can experiment with shots, framing, rhythms, sequences and ways of looking at things. A short while ago I decided to transfer to telecine 6 hours of Super 8 film that was piling up in my cupboard. For the first time I felt the need to work with the material I had. There were lots of things that were connected and repeated themselves year after year. The editing of this film is linked to the way I see a landscape for the first time. They are pan shots made during trips in many different places around the world, from east to west. Travelling has always inspired me in building my projects. What interests me is to see how my own look adapts to different realities and to the changes in the landscape. The concert that will accompany the film’s projection is made out of one single composition which is improvised and cannot be seen as a soundtrack but as an isolated element that tries to capture the spirit of a journey.
