Two men threaten a woman.In the found-footage construction Twisted Eyes (originally a 16mm film, 11:30 min., b&w, silent, 2002) we see two observers who observe each other while being observed by a third observer, who in turn is being observed by the first two observers. The observation turns increasingly obtrusive, and ultimately threatening.[VID] Video Version-2 is a negative-image conversion, tinted red.In contrast to the blue-tinted realistic first version, this made a little manipulation by means of editing necessary, and the conclusion with the dark forest was abandoned completely. As a result the lead actress’ final gaze is defined as a look into emptiness. The ghostly atmosphere of the second [VID] Video version is intensified by a crackling-fire soundtrack. (D.B.)
