In 1986, the Beastie Boys released their first album: Licensed to Ill. One of the tracks from this album became one of their most famous songs, (You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!). At the time, the band made a music video in which – inspired by a zombie film by George A. Romero – barged into a private party and created chaos: broken furniture, smashed TV sets and – the most memorable image of the video – pies randomly thrown by guests. In 2011, Adam Yauch (film director and one of the members of the band) directed Fight for Your Right Revisited, a short film that revisits the original video, starting the narrative exactly where (You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!) left it. With a comedic and surreal approach, this new film celebrates the 25th anniversary of the release of the BB’s first album, and introduces Hot Sauce Committee in Part Two, the eighth in the band’s career. The film maintains the narrative structure of the original: the band causing chaos only now it’s in the middle of the city. Halfway through the film, the Beastie Boys enter a break-dance contest with a version of the band that has come from the future (appropriately travelling in a DeLorean). The production is quite impressive and the film has an enormous amount of cameos: Elijah Wood, Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, Jack Black, John C. Reilly, Will Ferrell, Susan Sarandon, Jason Schwartzman, Rashida Jones, Stanley Tucci, Will Arnett, Ted Danson and Steve Buscemi.
