In an article in the Portuguese daily newspaper ‘Público’ from October 1999, entitled, ' Greetings to Generation Shorts’, critic and essayist Augusto M. Seabra, spoke about the emergence of a new wave of young Portuguese filmmakers, who throughout the 1990s (coinciding with the birth of Curtas Vila do Conde), flooded the Portuguese film scene, with a series of unusual short films. This documentary is a journey through 20 years of Curtas Vila do Conde, which started a new era in Portuguese film festivals and on whether the so called Generations Shorts exists or not. It is not a tribute, nor a direct commission from Curtas. It is above all a journalistic look at a rich period in Portuguese short film production. This period has been fundamental to several Portuguese filmmakers because of the prestige earned and the awards won in major international film festivals.
