A documentary about the life and work of the poet Ruy Belo, based on testimonies, conversations, readings and places which inspired and featured so much in his many works. From S. João da Ribeira, where he was born, to Paris to hear Chico Buarque de Hollanda read two of his poems, and including Madrid where he worked as a lecturer in Portuguese, the film portrays his life and work through the people he knew well and with whom he shared friendships, dreams and illusions. In addition, those who read, interpret and study his work also help us to understand and discover one of the greatest poets of the second half of the 20th century: our urgent poet.
