A cacophony of colours, sounds and images in rapid succession, this is an amalgam of visual experiences catalogued to a certain extent by the film itself as disorganised memories with no poetry. As an unidentified film object, it is not a conventional film, taking risks and offering surprises in the way it depicts the relationship between man and technology. “Painting With History in a Room Filled With People With Funny Names 3” presents an inner journey into the duality between mind and body and the confrontation between artist and machine, explored in different registers. This unusual vision and blend of traditional influences and pop culture is partly a diary of individual thoughts on a collage of images, partly a music video and partly a philosophical meditation. Setting the artist’s struggle to create alongside the author’s concern with themes such as globalisation and his cultural legacy, Korakrit Arunanondchai aims to achieve a new form of expression. (JA)
