This new film by Hisham Bizri explores human feelings and the violent survival of mankind in terms of the personal, the religious and the political. Throughout the film the director overlays various paradigmatic episodes from cinema to create a fictional drama that also considers the role of the director’s perspective, drawing on archive material from Pasolini’s work. In filming, the director makes transparent what he sees, thinks and feels. He is entrusted with the task of describing human experience through sound and images. This is the third work by this director to be screened at Curtas Vila do Conde, following “A Film” in 2010, and “Siroco” in 2012. (SG)
