Villa Soledade crosses the musical and the documental genre. Shot in 16mm, a journey on the Portuguese national road, on the north of Portugal, enunciates a passing point that is also a place of idle forms. The fugacity of the traffic movement in comparison to the vertical pools, the stacked-up pottery, the old gas stations or the overly dimensioned nightclubs, seemingly empty, bring us back to a Portuguese imaginary, the leftovers of an opulent past, celebrated in quiet improvised dances.
