Death seems to like them. And TV likes them dead and naked, if possible! The exercise of pseudonecrophilia, thinly disguised by piles of make-up that do not hide a swollen lip or by the blood in steaks that even makes a pair of erect nipples more prominent, has become commonplace. A night spent zapping was enough for Kristy Guevara-Flanagan ("Wonder Women! The Untold Story of American Superheroines", 2012) to find, for the short film "What Happened to Her", a dozen of Laura Palmer followers without bags to hide their curves. Bodies sensually displayed before more or less slender – but always impeccably dressed – doubles of a meditative Dale Cooper which, tied to the role of detectives (they, the bodies), leave us, viewers, with the (only apparently transgressive) freedom – it’s only a series! – of pleasure. But now let us imagine that one of them "opens her eyes" and speaks. That, distracting our inquiring gaze, there is an actress, a woman, sharing, out loud, reflections that, under that post-mortem livid colour, feed doubts about her true role there and, ultimately, about our role here, on this side of the screen.
