The result of a remake of a silent film with the same title, directed by Colin Campbell, in 1918, "Little Orphant Annie" follows the structure of a poem by James Whitcomb Riley, written in 1885 and recorded, in his own voice, a few years later. Annie dreams of her friends from the orphanage, some mischievous children who must watch out the arrival of the Elves. In an atmosphere of terror, allegedly created by the imagination of the orphan girl, the film develops from the scanned images of two coils of the original copy of nitrate and a very old recording of the poem, with a very nasal sound and full of imperfections. Ultimately, Annie’s ghosts are revealed, as a result from the work performed based on such a deteriorated film. Bill Morrison is one of the authors of Curtas, who has already taken part, several times, on the experimental competition and on the Solar collective exhibition, in 2011, entitled "Film". In 2015, he directed "The Dockworker’s Dream", which integrated the film-concert with Lambchop, a festival production based on Portuguese silent films selected from the archives of the Cinemateca Portuguesa.
