This film is part of a collective film project, "Archivos intervenidos", commissioned by the Museo del Cine de Buenos Aires to fourteen Argentinian artists and filmmakers invited to make films from the found footage materials of the Museum’s archives. The fragment by Nele Wohlatz – who was born in Germany but has been living in Argentina for many years – uses images of skiers as an inspiration to continue exploring the themes of immigration, identity and the role of language, already begun with the feature "El Futuro Perfecto", winner of the award for best first film at the Locarno Film Festival in 2016. In "Three Sentences About Argentina" Wohlatz still explores, with a remarkable sense of humour, the issues of the arbitrariness of language and the relations between word and image in an approach not very distant from that of the surrealists or dadaists, further reinforced by the editing of the various images found in the archive films, thus drawing near to the collage technique.
