Filmed at Biosphere 2, in Arizona, USA, the title of the film comes from the name of a Nordic mythological entity, one of the goddesses of destiny. It’s an experimental and post-apocalyptical science fiction work, situated in a tension nod between a certain constructed world and the impossibility of the very existence of such a thing or place. The voice-over of an anonymous scientist records her last moments in a controlled environment, the last hope for Earth’s ecosystem completely devastated by the greenhouse effect. The experiment is prolonged beyond to its limits, after the artificial intelligence control is disconnected in a last and final attempt to understand what will be in fact the ineffable destiny. Ben Rivers is one of our authors at Curtas Vila do Conde, often part of our selection lists, and the winner of the experimental competition with "Ah, Liberty!" (2008). He also presented the exhibition "Ruins/Rites/Runes" (2015) side by side with Ben Russell at Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery and took part in directing "O Corcunda" ("The Hunchback") – integrate in this year’s exhibition "Terra" – along with Gabriel Abrantes.
