In his new work, Dietmar Brehm reuses the archive material from his work "Praxis", started in 2007, tampering his video recordings to create new narratives based on shimmering effects, by blurring and playing with inversions between the positive-negative of the images. It creates a virtual and two-dimensional anaglyphic, where red and green cross to create a three-dimensional stereoscopic effect. Dietmar Brehm also uses symbols and icons of the pop culture, where the mundane alternates with the supernatural while we hear a guitar with the reverberating sound in the background. Brehm is a usual presence at Curtas Vila do Conde, where he has already presented the films "Dirt + Venus" (1991), "Blitze" (2000), "Mix – 3" (2000), "Verdrehte Augen (2. Version)" (2002), "Peep-5" (2004) e "Verdrehte Augen - 2.Videoversion" (2009). The last has been awarded an honourable mention in the Experimental Competition, in 2010. (SG)
