Veteran and pioneer avant-garde American artist Ken Jacobs, who has twice been awarded in Vila do Conde (in 2011, he won the Experimental Competition with "The push carts leave Eternity Street" and in 2007 he won the International Competition with "Capitalism: Child Labor and Nymph") and has already exhibited at the Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery ("Action Cinema", 2010), is back to Curtas with "Popeye Sees 3D," an exciting experience, exclusively visual - the film is mute - that explores cinematic technology as narrative power. According to Jacobs himself, this work was born via the influence of Hans Hofmann's paintings and his studies on depth, but also of the works developed with his companion, Flo Jacobs, about the concept "Nervous System", that dates back to 1975. Openly performative, "Popeye sees 3D" explores the current digital technologies to power an immersive experience that offers the viewer the chance to watch the same image from different perspectives.
