Five co-workers fear for their future when the small company they work for is bought out by a large corporate group. As a way to reassure and motivate the concerned staff and strengthen their bond with the new employer, they are offered a relaxing day out, in a nudist spa. The poisoned gift forces them to nudity, mixing the two opposite realities of leisure and work, of private and social life. This will bring about all kinds of speculation and elicit reactions of acceptance, refusal or resistance. The inescapable pressure to bare themselves naked proves too much for Serge, played by the inimitable Wim Willaert, who comes to his wits’ end at the sauna, with the fragrant birch branches of the vihta producing the ultimate instance of involuntary self-flagellation. Playing on the cultural notion of modesty, this social satire deals, in a deceptively light manner, with the exploitation of vulnerability and the insidious obligation of transparency carried out unilaterally by employers, in a time when precarious work and unemployment pose real threat.
