Scattered images found in the Internet: they are extreme videos of extreme acts. This is, in fact, the new dominant visual culture. For Miguel Fonseca, these images serve as the backdrop for the story of a teenager in contemporary Lisbon. For Rute, the world falls apart because of the “absence” of her father and the secret bullying she experiences in social networks. A mystery that will have a surprising resolution. This is a sincere portrait of the new generations and the cocoon they set up in their relationships through computers. It is not a film of criticism, but rather a work of clarity on the new conditions of life in society. Miguel Fonseca is a discreet filmmaker, but he has been a constant presence at Curtas Vila do Conde, as witnessed by his shorts “Alpha” (2008) or “I Know You Can Hear Me” (2011), in which the debate on our time is a constant.
