Agathe is searching for her ex-husband, a techno DJ in the south of France, to persuade him to come back to her. Aged almost 40, she is determined to have a child. At the same time, the planet is invaded by an army of plastic bags that have come to life and are attacking humans. “Night of the Plastic Bags” is an inspired and entertaining foray into the genre film and B movie which makes eccentric and irreverent use of their conventions. With a highly original approach to combining the intimate story of the main characters with the disaster movie, and ecological parable with fantasy cinema, this is the second film by Gabriel Harel, winner of the Cartoon d’Or in 2016 for his debut film “Yùl and the Snake” (Yùl et le serpent) which, like its successor, also used animation techniques based on real images.
