Anja Dornieden & Juan David González Monroy — a directorial duo based in Berlin — develop a narrative, with found footage, by putting up a series of images that resemble an inventory of natural experiments (plants, animals, human bodies, etc.). This catalogue — accompanied by all-time music classics which are brutally interrupted or distorted — looks like a psych evaluation to the viewer. How do these images and sounds make you feel? Gradually “Comfort Stations” stops being comfortable. Is the viewer ready for it? This film marks the return of Anja Dornieden & Juan David González Monroy — now under the collective name OJOBOCA — to Curtas, after having been selected in 2012 to the Experimental Competition with “The Handeye (Boné Ghosts)”.
