Born and raised in a remote village in the interior of Portugal, in permanent contact with nature, Benjamim is a shy, naïve teenager, protected from the real world by his Grandmother. One summer, Ema enters Benjamim’s world and things will no longer be the same, which is something that leaves him uncomfortable. Scarier than that is the return of a friend of his Grandmother's, who brings memories of past sorrows. Written, edited and directed by Ana Margarida Coelho, “Benjamim” is a film about the fear of change and the insecurities of growing up. (PC)
