The title of this documentary plays with the name of the place where the action unfolds, A Ver-o-Mar (Watching-the-Sea), and with the practice that is portrayed: people who spend long stretches of time inside a car watching the sea and people who stroll along that waterfront. This is, after all, a habit shared between different generations, between different couples who make use of those moments to strengthen their intimacy in repeated gestures that the film reveals as natural. The film meddles in conversations and creates an intimate relationship with the people it films, who gradually expand the stories they make up to while away time. (JA)
