In the year of 1957, during the campaigns for the elections in China, the country was struggling with hunger. In this fiction, directed by Wenting Deng Fisher and Luke Fisher, Li, a young man who, after his parents death, moved in with his grandmother, meets Hong, a girl determined to catch a sparrow. The two young people quickly find something in common and unite to capture the sparrow, having heard that with the delivery of this they would receive extra food in that difficult time from a neighbouring village. After several attempts to capture it, finally the sparrow is imprisoned, but the process marked them and their consciences. (Lara Santos)
