Jean-Pierre Léaud will be immortalized in the history of cinema by his interpretation of Antoine Doinel, the protagonist teenager of “Os Quatrocentos Golpes” (1959), François Truffaut’s film that helped to found the French nouvelle vague. In 2016, at the age of 72, Léaud starred the film “A Morte De Luís XIV”, by Albert Serra, where he played the French monarch with the longest reign in his last moments, prostrate in bed that would be his death. From these two works, Ricardo Pinto de Magalhães rehearses, in split screen, a kind of game of views (between Léaud, Doinel and Louis XIV) of a dying man about his own past, perhaps as a reminder of the happy times of adolescence.
