In 2020, the word “quarantine” took on a universal meaning – one that nobody expected. Moullinex makes use of the compulsory four-wall isolation period and releases “Luz”, the OST for a worldwide lockdown. In this case, the video clip came before the song. Bráulio Amado and Bruno Ferreira captured, using the light of an iPhone aided by binoculars, what happened on Lisbon’s balconies during the compulsory isolation period. “Luz” gives us the respite of keeping up with one another, in a kind of hitchcockian “rear window”. The single was recorded and composed by Moullinex in their home studio, and features Guilherme Tomé Ribeiro, aka GPU Panic. (CR)
