The “Jóia da Rotina” is, just as Filipe Sambado tells us, “to return home early” and “leave the gold in the mine”. It is around this idea of routine and tradition that Miguel Afonso adorns Sambado’s music video with ultra-religious and kitsch elements, in a critique of the conservative concept of family, and of society’s preconceived ideas. In the video, Sambado is only seen in three different locations: the first one, in warm colors, with gold, men in skirts and min scarves, as well as several religious icons, such as Our Lady of Fátima and Jesus Christ; in the second one, he is by himself, wrapped in a white blanket that protects him; finally, in the third one, he is lying in the comfort and intimacy of a sofa in the middle of the “jungle”. The tune took Filipe Sambado to RTP Song Festival, and Miguel Afonso was the one who conveyed Sambado’s imagery in the music video. (CR)
