In a fun and challenging way, this animation codirected by Chilean Luis Briceño and French Laurent Crouzeix presents an alternative history behind the European arrival at the American continent in the 1400s. Loosely inspired by Austrian author Stefan Zweig’s fictional work, the film presents, via stop-motion animation, the events prior to the colonization of America in chronological order, offering a pertinent reflection on controversial and complex current issues, such as xenophobia and colonialism.
