Walerian Borowczyk was a polish painter, sculptor and filmmaker, one of the most relevant of the 20th century, particularly praised for his work in both animation and erotic cinema, known for films such as “Immoral Tales” (1973) or “Emmanuelle 5“ (1986). Refusing a biographical approach, this is a delirious and phantasmagoric imaginary portrait of what might have been this unique artist’s journey. “Boro in the Box” is another foray into the bestial, obscene, radical, obsessive and iconoclastic universe of French filmmaker Bertrand Mandico, a Curtas regular, having won the Cidade Vila do Conde Grand Prix in 2011.
