Founded in 1926, Yle, the Finnish public radio station, is one of the most important media channels in that country. Since 1979, the program Kansanradio (People's Radio) has become one of the most popular programs among Finnish listeners, as it receives and live broadcasts messages from any citizen, in which they express their opinions on various topics. It is, therefore, a human and authentic portrait of the country. From these fragmented audio narratives, the Finnish director Virpi Suutari, who has already presented two short films and a feature, co-directed with Susanne Helke, in Vila do Conde, films a series of portraits of Finnish landscapes that witness several changes (and destructions) caused by humans over the decades. Almost entirely stripped of human bodies, which appear mostly in archival television footage, the landscapes are now populated by autochthonous animals and other natural elements, such as rivers and forests, struggling to re-establish an ancestral connection to the land.
