“Turritopsis Dohrnii”, a species of jellyfish, is a sea creature considered by the scientific community as biologically immortal. In “Jellyfish”, Ana Santos and Sofia Costa are inspired by the anatomy and morphology of this living being to, through a sequence of different kinds of images, provocatively address the concept of youthfulness and perfection marketed by the cosmetics industry, evoking the jellyfish’s immortality and humankind’s relentless quest for eternal youth.
