Directed by Ana S. Carvalho, “(In)Quietude” follows Maya, a young woman trying to relearn how to live after the loss of her mother. At the same time, the teenager struggles with feelings of sadness and rage, culminating in a state of restlessness, distress, and internal conflict. The water is a fundamental element throughout the entire short film. Whether in the bathtub, in a dream, or in the vastness of the sea, the element follows Maya’s journey until she finally reaches a state of acceptance and quietude. (JD)
