Directed by swiss filmmaker Juliette Klinke, “Dans Le Silence D’une Mer Abyssale” is a short that brings to light some forgotten women in film history, who played important roles at different time periods. The documentary presents original images and sounds filmed by these same women, and in which they participated, in order to make the viewer aware of the historical and cinematographic evolution of the role played by women in cinema history, whether at a technical, narrative, or representation level. Furthermore, by remembering these filmmakers’ names, as well as their stories, we refrain from letting them fall into the silent oblivion of an abysmal sea. (Tatiana Grazina)
